About Laurence
Laurence is an autonomous growth platform for brands on Amazon: conversion rates statistically modeled per search term and placement, bids priced from true margins, every keyword repriced hourly. Built in New York by quants, engineers, and researchers from Jump Trading, Five Rings, Google, and Meta, backed by Y Combinator, Susa Ventures, and Box Group.
The work
- Own systems end to end across the platform: the Next.js product surface, the FastAPI modeling backend, and the ClickHouse analytics warehouse.
- Ship every day to a system that moves real money for real brands every hour.
- Build the agentic layer: internal agents, the MCP surface, and the tooling that gives a team of eight the leverage of a much larger one.
- Work close to customers: join calls, read the accounts your code affects, and explain your own systems’ decisions.
What we look for
- Strong backend, data, and infrastructure fundamentals; you have built real systems and can reason about them from first principles.
- Already building with AI agents, and interested in quantitative decision systems.
- High agency and learning velocity; comfortable with ambiguity, direct critique, and an intense pace.
- No specific degree, employer, or Amazon experience required.
