About Laurence

Laurence is an autonomous growth platform for brands on Amazon: conversion rates statistically modeled per search term and placement, bids priced from true margins, every keyword repriced hourly. Built in New York by quants, engineers, and researchers from Jump Trading, Five Rings, Google, and Meta, backed by Y Combinator, Susa Ventures, and Box Group.

The work

  • Own the models that price every bid: conversion-rate estimation, bidding policies, and the signals that feed them.
  • Design and run experiments on live auctions, with real spend as the readout.
  • Build simulations of auction dynamics to test a policy before it touches customer money.
  • Take your own research to production: the system reprices every keyword hourly, and your models drive it.

What we look for

  • Depth in probability and statistics; Bayesian modeling as a working tool, not a course you took.
  • You write code that ships — research here ends in production, not in a notebook.
  • Taste for the simplest model that is correct, and honesty about uncertainty.
  • High agency and learning velocity; comfortable with direct critique and an intense pace.
